Psalm 1 is what I am memorizing this week along with my toddlers. I didn’t want to do a rote memorization right now but instead use the opportunity to meditate upon this Psalm word by word, verse by verse. This post gives us the  secret to enjoying a Psalm 1 happy Christian life.

Winter is over, and Summer has begun. I noticed that all those trees that looked dead in the bitter cold here in New York has blossomed again. Flowers, green leaves, and even fruits scream out in beautiful colors to the world,” Look at us thriving and flourishing.”

It is important to remember that when our physical bodies are malnourished, our soul will be depleted as well. A tree cannot bear fruit if it is sick or uprooted from the ground. Have you been nourishing yourself with the daily manna?

Secret to a Fruitful PSALM 1 HAPPY CHRISTIAN LIFE

Psalm 1: 1 from the Amplified version .

Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.

The word “Blessed” comes from the root word Asher which also means “HAPPY”.  The world is searching for happiness and chasing after the diminishing and ever-changing idols.

The Lord created man and woman to be happy and blessed in and through HIM. Glorifying God on this earth and delighting in His Word should be our greatest call.

Walk > Stand > Sit

Psalm 1 talks about how a blessed child of God refrains from falling into progressive sin.

How she walks not, stands not, nor sits in a group where the ungodly resides.

Instead she allows Christ to plant her in the deep rooted places.

Three secrets on how we can stop ourselves from being a chaff and live a Psalm 1 Fruitful and happy Christian life.

1.BE DEEP ROOTED  

God is immovable and unchangeable. He doesn’t waver like us and He wants us to be like Him. A deep-rooted woman gives us a picture of one who has stability.

She is one who is planted on a solid foundation. Christ is her firm footing and she is able to enjoy a fruitful Christian life because of her roots.

God’s Word is hidden inside her so well that she is not swayed by false teaching nor by the severe windstorms that hits her.

Matthew 13:6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.

Colossians 2: 6-7 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

A deep- rooted woman doesn’t wither away in the scorching flames of trials.

Blessed is that fruitful tree who sits at the feet of Jesus and runs her roots deep in the WORD and not the world.

2.BE PLUGGED

My laptop is literally dying and the moment I unplug it, it shuts down. What is giving the battery life is the fact that it is plugged 24/7 to the outlet.

Be plugged into God’s Word continually. Know the schemes of the Devil and be ever watchful of his traps.

Christ is our support system, our oxygen. Inhaling anything else and hoping they will sustain us is a lie Satan wants us to believe.

What and who has been draining you? Remember the next time your battery is low to plug and reconnect with the Lord.

Recharge yourself by being plugged into Jesus – Author and Finisher of our Faith.

John 15:4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me

Jude 1: 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Psalm 63:1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

Blessed is that fruitful tree who stands up for the gospel and is unwavering in her decision to live in the way of the Lord

3.BE SPIRIT DRIVEN

Being spiritually driven means to be SPIRIT Driven and not self driven.   A spiritual driven woman lives a purposeful life giving God all the credit. Whatever she does begins to then prosper. It is then that the fruit of the Spirit begins to grow in due season.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

When we are not Spirit led, we become a chaff. Humans are prone to weakness, hatred, and sin. Hence, we are asked to abide by the Vine and not be cut off from His supply.

The chaff has no drive to live. It is in fact separated from the original life Giver. Driven away from God to be with the worldly wind.

The Devil wants us to feel alone in this world. So, he will try his best to separate us from our family, Church, community, and everything that will draw us to the Lord.

So, let us vow to be Spirit Driven and not self-driven.

Psalm 143: 10 Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

Romans 8 :14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

Blessed is that fruitful tree who walks by faith and is led by the Holy Spirit.

REFLECTION:

• Progressive sin starts from our thoughts, then it passes to our decision to choose that way, and ultimately be a sinner. How do you think we can control our thoughts from sinning when temptation is on full rise around us?
