Life on this earth can be quiet discouraging when we put our faith in men instead of the Lord. We find ourselves drained and alone as we go about our daily routine filled with several huge obstacles in our way.  The battle of discouragement is one of the deadliest tool that our enemy loves to see us go through. Satan doesn’t want to see us finding encouragement in our daily lives, so he will try to make us believe that we are all alone.

The question in such times of discouragement is “where do I turn in to fortify and encourage myself “.

“And David strengthened himself in the Lord” 1 Samuel 30:6

We must tune into our Heavenly Father and encourage ourselves in the Lord just like David. Patiently, he exercised his faith in the power and providence of God; in HIS faithfulness in keeping the promises towards us.

“Yet he did not waver through disbelief in the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,” Romans 4:20

We see that no obstacles moved or staggered Abraham because he looked for the performance of God’s promise even when the case seemed futile.

My Friend, through these verses we can learn one thing that even when discouragement will knock at the door, we must encourage ourselves through prayer, unwavering faith, determination, and trust in His promises. David, Paul, Abraham, and Jesus Himself found immense strength in God.

2 Timothy 4:16, 17 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.

But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was rescued out of the lion’s mouth.

We read how Paul mentions during his imprisonment some charges were brought upon him, and he had no one that stood beside him.

Maybe right now you are going through some rough times and there is no one to plead your cause on your behalf humanly speaking.

But the Lord promises to stand beside you and encourage you today. He is your protector, guide, friend, and Heavenly Father. He will deliver you from the enemy’s traps. Jesus Christ is the defender of the weak , and the fatherless.
