Lost : 4 ways Jesus responds when you are found in HIM

Lost and Found :

I cannot tell you how many times I have lost my phone this week.

Every time I lose my things, I will try to recall my steps backwards.

I will begin my search by looking inside my spice drawer, or medicine cabinet, the space between the sofa, or under my car seat.

Sometimes I will find it right away or after a day or two.

Imagine losing your child in a crowd.

I was once lost for a few minutes in a crowded train station as a toddler. I haven’t forgotten that fear .

 Lost and Found by Jesus

–Have you felt lost and distant from God?

–Do you find everything in your life just out of place?

–You wonder if things will fall into the right place any time soon.

–Do worries about losing someone important in your life try to take over your thoughts?

Now close your eyes and reminiscence about the time you experienced God’s faithfulness in your life.

Take one more step back and you will recall how the Lord was good to you even in the most challenging times.

You will remember that He remained constant even when everyone else abandoned you or wrote you off.

I remember weeping when I got lost as a child because I couldn’t find my parents near me.

But I also vividly recall the joy my parents showed when they found me.

Relentless Seeker

Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Jesus came to seek –

–The ones who have left home because of reasons known and unknown.

–The ones who have lost their way back to God

–The one who want to commit suicide or continue using drugs to forget their pains.

Jesus has been waiting for you!!!!

Creation is lost without its Creator

He is willing to leave the 99 of His beloved sheep in a secular place and come search for you.

No one can fill this emptiness and loneliness within you.

No amount of alcohol, or ecstasy, romantic movies can make you feel complete.

The pleasures of this world have its limits, but the fulfillment in Christ is limitless and complete.

He is waiting for you outside the door of your beating heart like a relentless lover. The Lord wants you to hear His knock and let Him in today.

No matter how far you feel you have gone away from God, He is taking those steps towards you. All you must do is go back to Him.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. (James 4:8)

if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

So how does Jesus respond when you and I are found in Him?

Here are 4 ways Jesus responds when you are found

1.He rejoices over your return:

God, the Father anxiously awaits the return of His lost children. He celebrates your return and gives you the dignity you deserve not the punishment.

Luke 15:20, MSG When he was still a long way off, his father saw him. His heart pounding, he ran out, embraced him, and kissed him.

The unconditional love of a father makes me teary eyed all the time. The father celebrated the return of the prodigal son. He arranged for the best of the best to be given to his once lost son. He didn’t punish him or push the son away.

Heaven rejoices over you along with the entire host of angels as well. Come back to Jesus just as you are.

2. He doesn’t remember your past sins:

I have a certain family member who  forgets to hug me, but will never forgot to remind me of my past errors as a child.

The best part about God is that HE purposely CHOOSES to forget your past deeds, and every grave mistake.

An all-knowing God who forgets our sins.

I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins. Isaiah 43:25, ESV

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12, KJV

God doesn’t treat you according to your sins after you confess and return to Him. He treats you royally because He is the King of Kings and your Father.

3.He restores you back to His banqueting table

Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Revelation 3:20,NLT

A perfect image between the SEEKER and the lost resulting in a restored relationship. A lost sinner is reconciled purely by the goodness and condescension of Christ.

A beautiful invitation of Christ’s love for His Bride is the picture I want to give you today. Visualize yourself dining on the table of the Most High and leaning your head on Jesus’ bosom.

4. He reminds you gently to sin no more

A woman was caught in the act of adultery and a bunch of men wanted to stone her to death as per the law. But I see Jesus, a Truer man asking those men to throw the first stone if they were without sin as well.

Now all those men left the place one by one, and the only Man of God who never sinned remained.

These very words of Jesus in John 8:10-11 draws me towards Him to worship Him. He stands in front of the woman and asks her

“Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

 “No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

A God who forgives, and never condemns even when He has the power and authority to throw the first stone at us.

Invitation:

It is never too late to be found in Lord Jesus.

All you must do is take those steps back to Him, confess your sins, and be in a good  relationship with God.

Reflection:

–Are you lost or found in Jesus?

–How long have you been away from this relationship with God?

–Which of these 4 responses from Jesus do you connect with the most?

Until we meet again,

I love this so much. Over the last 2 years, I’ve only grown closer to Jesus and my faith, but there are times when I do feel inadequate or like I’m not as good of a Christian as I could be. I loved these verses, I’ll be highlighting them in my bible tonight!

Also, I had NO idea He doesn’t remember our sin! That’s an amazing truth!

Thank you Jasmine for these lovely comments. God doesn’t remember our sins because He immensely loves us. He is a God of second chances. Our standard of measure must not be any other Christian , just the Lord ! I pray you will always feel adequate in Jesusb

    Diane,

You are so very right…especially that last one. He is gentle in His reminders to not do the thing that makes us miserable and separates us from Him. There is no aggression there. Thank you for reminding me and for sharing this on #SundayThoughts!

I love it that He rejoices over our return! If we as earthly parents are overjoyed when we find our lost child, why would we expect less from a perfectly loving Heavenly Father? He is better than our parents. His love is better than the love of our earthly parents. His love is perfect with not one flaw.

Absolutely Ruth, His love is much better than any other earthly love. He never fails , and relentlessly pursues us.

Great post! I love the image of the Good Shepherd leaving the 99 sheep to go look for the one lost sheep! Praise be to our God that he relentlessly pursues his lost children! This post makes me think of the song “Reckless Love” by Bethel. Thank you for these powerful reminders!

I am so glad to read your comments, Christin! I didn’t know the song “Reckless love” but loved every word in the lyrics. His reckless love chases us until we are found.
      Blessings
