HOW TO SOAR HIGH LIKE AN EAGLE
Ever had an exhaustive, overburnt week where workload never seemed to have an end, or deteriorating health get in the way of your daily activities? Do these exhaustion stop you from soaring high , and bring you down to the ground of self-pity and sorrow? Do you know how to soar high like eagles ?
I have had several of them, but this week was rough in particular. Mentally, emotionally, and physically I felt overwhelmed and drained out.
I wished oh so deeply to share my woes with someone, to lighten my burdens, and to find encouragement.
Exhausted, I sat on the kitchen floor and suddenly I heard a whisper in my ear “Diana, you can SOAR high with wings like eagles.”
Suddenly, I recalled one of the verses I had memorized as a teenager, and I got up to read it.
Oh, what an encouraging verse it was indeed.
Isaiah 40:31
…but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
You and I were created not only to fly but to Soar High like eagles.
Do you know that there is a huge difference between flying and soaring?
To fly means to be simply moving along, and going about the daily routines without any hope or joy
But to SOAR HIGH means to display joy, thrill, gratitude in the living. It means to rise above disappointments and to spread your beautiful God given wings into the Sun.
I have noticed 3 admiring qualities about Eagles :
1.Eagles have a keen vision. They know what they want and how to rest. A well watered Christian woman must have a clear vision for her family and also knows when to rest.
Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he
2.Eagles travel light and can SOAR high up in the sky. They do not fly with lots of heavy baggage on their back.
Whether you are a hiker ,a camper, or travelling by air with toddlers – it is always important to travel light, otherwise the journey will turn out to be an exhaustive one.
Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
3.Eagles do not like to mingle too much on the land. They know that they belong in the sky.
–Have we made these earthly homes our permanent abode ?
Philippians 3:20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
Here are 4 reasons why every christian must soar high like eagles.
1.Learn to wait upon the Lord.
The pressures of life will drag you, but let it teach you to wait upon the Lord.
It is where you can renew your strength to run again.
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
2.The Lord can mend your past.
Your broken past and present will try break you down, but instead let these experiences restore your unfaltering hope in the Lord. Only the Lord can refresh your life with His Love.
Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love;
3.Soar high to the sky.
Do not carry your burdens alone , but let it encourage you to spread your wings breaking every grip of gravity, and SOAR above dramas and loneliness.
Deuteronomy 32:11 “Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, That hovers over its young, He spread His wings and caught them, He carried them on His pinions.
4.Ascend towards the SON of GOD when you are exhausted and weary.
The exhaustion of life will put you in despair, but remember you are anointed with strength to face every storm.
Psalm 24:3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
My Friend, as you wait upon the Lord I pray that your strength will be renewed , and you’ll be able to SOAR on wings like the eagles who ascend towards the SUN.
Until we meet again here,
Soaring High

March 6, 2017 at 4:15 pmIt isn’t easy to give up when we feel overwhelmed, this is a great reminder of what to do instead. “God doesn’t scream at us when we are overwhelmed, but whispers gently in our ears”. I love how you put that into words 🙂

April 16, 2018 at 9:32 amThis has been one of my favorite verses in all of the Bible, Diana, and I’ve recalled it on many an occasion too in order to encourage myself. I didn’t know some of the traits of eagles that you shared, so this verse makes perfect sense for us as Christ-followers. This metaphor is perfect! Thanks for inspiring us to soar like the eagle in our spiritual lives today!

July 20, 2019 at 8:34 pmWeathering the Storm
Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks? The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.
The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm. When the storms of life come upon us – and all of us will experience them – we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow God’s power to lift us above them.
God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm. Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle them.
The Bible says, “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.” Isaiah 40:31
