Battles we face, Satan

7 Biblical Strategies a Vigilant Christian must use against Satan

Christian and Satan:

Last week, I wrote about the 4 D’s Devil uses against a Christian who is not vigilant . The Devil is truly on a prowl looking whom he can devour with these four D’s.

Today we are going to focus on 7 strategies that every vigilant Christian must use against Satan.

I mentioned how the leopard knew where the baboons rested with their little ones, and stealthily watched them through the day. It used strategies to capture the weakest link and was an expert in climbing the tree as well.

Satan wants to instill fear in every Christian that he is stronger than God the Father. Dear friend that is an absolute lie for Jesus defeated Satan at the Cross. The stone was rolled away, and Christ is sitting at the right hand of the Father.

The day will soon come, when the King of Kings will return to take His Bride home and cast our mutual enemy into the lake of fire. But while we, Christians live on this earth let us put on the full armor of God and fight against the devil.

Here are SEVEN Biblical strategies every vigilant Christian must use against Satan:

1.Be aware of Satan’s presence:

Dear Friend, this enemy and the warfare is real, he is not a part of some fictional story. Devil who was created as an angel did not want to worship God and instead wanted to be above the CREATOR. He lurks around like a roaring lion to intimidate us, and patrols to and fro to see who he can malign. (Job 2:2)

There are days, I wonder if Satan could try to cause so much distress in the life of a righteous man like Job, how much more vigilant I should be every day.

Do not let Satan outwit us!!

“in order that Satan might not outwit us. We are not ignorant of Satan’s devices” (2 Corinthians 2:11.)

2. Study and Identify Satan’s tactics and traps:

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:11(NIV)

Satan ultimate desire from every human is that we worship him instead of the Living God. He will make every effort to make us spiritually, mentally, and physically weak so that we fall into the biggest traps of the 4 D’s mentioned in the previous post.

Satan is father of lies, accuser of brethren, disguises himself as the Angel of Light, Old Serpent, and a deceptor. Note, he is a disguiser!!!!

3.Being steadfast in our faith and calling:

To fight this warfare, we must first set our mind on Christ- the Author and Finisher of our Faith. Jesus is the only Solid foundation on which every child of God can stand steadfast for if we LACK IN FAITH we will be EASILY SWAYED by our mutual enemy.

A saved Christian can never be a swayed believer, but is a Steadfast Child of God.

4. Recognize our weakest links :

We must know what our personal struggles are, who the weakest person is in our home, and uplift them to the throne. Every temptation and warfare that comes our way must be met on our knees wearing the full armor of God.

Pay close attention to our wandering mind, stubborn heart, and weak flesh as we stay alert of the power of darkness wishing to subdue us.

strategies to use against Satan

5.Resist Satan:

Resistance is using a defensive operation against temptation to sin. Resist the devil by praising God, worshipping Jesus, and by praying without ceasing.

Say it loud “ I resist you Satan in the mighty name of Jesus “

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 (KJV)

By submitting every weak area of our life to God, we can resist the enemy whose sole purpose is to whisper, “Leave God, Enjoy Sin”

6. Standing together in Unity :

Satan loves to sow discord between spouses, children parents, and between women and men. Adam and Eve did not stand together in unity and did not resist the Devil’s lies and temptation. This caused them both the fellowship with God the Father. Are we standing in Unity or staying apart?

And if someone overpowers one person, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not easily broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

As Christians, let us stand together in Unity. Our fight is not against our spouse, children, or fellow believers but against the principalities, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

7. Know Jesus Intimately, and spot Satan immediately:

It is said that if you are an expert in designer clothes, you can easily spot a fake one. To recognize the Greater Power, it is important to spend time knowing Jesus and having a closer look.

Satan cannot touch our souls without Jesus’ permission. We have a hedge of protection built around us by the Lord.

Greater is JESUS that is in YOU, than the Devil that is in the World! (1 John 4:4)

Knowing Jesus means knowing His Power, Authority, and Might over every creature, and angels on this Earth and Heaven. DEATH and DEVIL has no power over our LORD JESUS.

–How did today’s post bless you? Are there additional strategies that you would like to share? I would be blessed.

Here is a small prayer gift for you  :

This is great! Christians need more of this kind of information. We need to get out into the battle and really fight. We keep getting run over or relationships damaged because we don’t recognize the real enemy and his tactics.

Thank you, Diana, for this detailed strategy. We are certainly not equipped to face our enemy apart from the power of God and the Truth of His Word.

Hi, Diana! I’m your neighbor at Chasing Community this week. Praying for the weakest members in our household is a daily and hourly necessity. May we always be vigilant in praying for others (and ourselves–sometimes WE are the weakest!).

Thank you for giving great examples for an easy understanding of how Satan can destroy us and pulls us from God. My husband has anxiety and depression which cause him to use alcohol to “feel better”. Over the past couple of years it has gotten worse and we have moved away from church and or behaviors and attitude toward one another has been terrible. He recently moved out and I pray everyday he finds the help he needs to get better and returns home. He refuses to believe that he has depression or anxiety and doesn’t not talk to me, so I sent prayers that he will again find the Lord. I have been working hard to get back my faith, peace, joy and happiness. I struggle each day but find solice in sites like yours that help me to seek only God and know he will get me through this rough time and bring me to a most glorious ending

Dear L, you have been through a lot . So many things can take away our peace and joy. Only the Lord can help us bear those fruits of joy and peace. I will be most certainly praying for you. I am so glad this site ministered to you in your time of need. Praying you will find your strength in the Lord Jesus Christ who carried your sorrows as well
