I am not a singer, even though I love to sing. Yet, I decided to sing in front of a huge crowd few weeks ago for a special occasion . A quick prayer was essential while standing in front of the crowd knowing fully well that I have never sang in front of a crowd for more than a decade. I had picked a meaningful hymn with a chorus and 3 stanzas, but I just couldn’t hit the right notes at the right time. Somehow, I finished the song and ran towards my chair with my head covered hoping to never
Watch out for Negative Thoughts : An incident which occurred a while ago has left me on a sad note. It has been many weeks since the incident but those negative thoughts haven’t left my mind. I wish I could turn back on time, and plan that day differently. I wonder if I should have restrained my thoughts? Should I have not stood up for my loved one? Should I still be feeling so low? Maybe now everyone dislikes me and is gossiping behind my back. Then, this morning those negative thoughts flooded back again. I grabbed the Word of God
Christian and Satan: Last week, I wrote about the 4 D’s Devil uses against a christian who is not vigilant . Today we are going to focus on 7 strategies that every vigilant Christian must use against Satan. The leopard knew where the baboons rested with their little ones, and stealthily watched them through the day. It used strategies to capture the weakest link and was an expert in climbing the tree as well. Satan wants to instill fear in every Christian that he is stronger than God the Father. Dear friend that is an absolute lie for Jesus defeated Satan at the
What happens when not vigilant : Recently, I watched a documentary on a leopard and the hunting tactics it used against a family of baboons. The leopard is known to be the fastest animal, nocturnal, and hunts solitary in the night. The baboons are always together in a group with their young ones, have poor eyesight in the dark and prefer to rest on top of the tree. Whenever the leopard tried to come near the baboons during the daytime, the latter would chase after the leopard together. So, after the baboons retired for the night on top of the tree
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and light unto my path. Psalm 119:105(KJV) One of the first verses I rote memorized as a little child was Psalm 119:105. I had no idea what it meant at that time but till today I can say this verse with my eyes closed.
3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. I have loved being around children all my life, and I didn’t wait to be a biological mama to show my love. It started off by helping young moms with their little ones during church gatherings or home visits as a ten-year-old, to teaching Sunday School, co-helping at VBS, and being an AWANA leader as an adult for over a decade. One doesn’t have to be a biological MOM to be called a MAMA if our mothering involves lots of prayers, encouragements, discipleship,
Memory of scars: Ever had to deal with scars that reminded you of sad times? I have two big scars on my face, and couple on my body from my childhood. The one on my forehead is from the Chicken pox I got on my 4th birthday and had to be in a room away from everyone to prevent spreading it to others. The other scar is on the palm of my right hand when I tripped and fell onto a sharp rock during a vacation. I bled a lot and needed several stitches. Our scars they come in all sizes and shapes
Sweet Tooth : Who doesn’t have a sweet tooth? One of my favorite stores to visit is the bakery near my house. I will take a walk to that bakery even if its scorching heat, snowing ,or raining heavy outside to make sure I can grab my favorite treat. So, as I glance through all the assortment of sweet, my eyes pause and gleam at the Raspberry and white chocolate Scone up on the shelf.
