Battles we face, Cross and Redemption

The Stench of Sin to the Scent of Christ: the Gospel

Sense of smell play a distinguished role in awakening all our senses. It could be the smell of a freshly baked pie, to French fries, or even a rotten fried fish to recognize if it is a stench or scent. Today , I will be talking about the power of Gospel and need of Jesus.

My family and I love to eat fried fish but none of us are fond of cleaning the fish. Just the other day I got some fish, washed it thoroughly, put some spices and cooked it.

I realized one of the fishes had gone bad, and well the whole house smelled like rotten fish. Even the use of my entire apple cinnamon fragrant candle did not make the smell go away.

Truth about sin and power of  Gospel

The stench of sin can overpower our entire being if we are not careful to replace it with the scent or aroma of Christ.

We read in the Bible from the Book of Genesis 25:29-34 how Esau sold his birthright of a firstborn to his cunning younger brother just for a bowl of stew.

Esau came back from the field famished and asked for a bowl of stew prepared by his younger brother Jacob, and his baby brother agreed if Esau sold his birthright.

The fragrance of the stew was so strong that Esau sold himself out and lost out on a lifetime of blessings for him and his entire generations to come.

–Do we compromise ourselves when it comes to sin and sell ourselves to the cunning devil just for a bowl of pleasure?

We often forget that the pleasure of sin can drag us into a pit of decay and foul stench, and we must pay a heavy price for it ultimately.

It is important that we put away everything that fills our lives with the stench of sin, so that we can be a fragrance for others.

Why do we need a Savior?

Every sinful choices we make knowingly and unknowingly have its own consequences; a heavy price to pay. The Bible in the book of Romans 3:23 says that “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”.

The Bible says that we are born sinners and therefore we need a Savior to save us. The power of Gospel is such that God became man and took upon our sins and paid the price.

Our sins separate us from the One and Only Holy God and our Creator and the wages of sin is death.(Romans 6:23).

Now ,this is what GOSPEL means GOOD NEWS. God the Father send His only begotten Son Jesus to be our Savior ,who took it upon Himself this penalty of our sins by taking the form of man.

How the Gospel can transform our sins into sweet perfumes for Jesus

Why did Jesus take a form of man?

Man sinned and someone had to die in his stead, so this is how God took our place and suffered on the Cross while still being God.

Jesus died for your sins, was buried and on the third day He raised up from the dead. Today, the work of redemption and justification is finished and all those who were far away from the Lord can be reconciled by His blood and become His family.

The blood of Jesus Christ can wash away all our sins and make us whole again. Let us put to death everything that is of the earthly and sinful nature within us today.

Jesus is not ashamed to be called your God, so come to HIM just as you are today.

Power of Gospel :

The Bible says  Do not harden your hearts and admit that you are sinner, confess your sins , and believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins, and rose up from the grave victoriously you will be saved today.

Take our Stench of Sin to Yahweh and watch Him transform them to Scent for Christ

Friend, here is the prayer to say if you want to accept the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart and life today,

Stench of Sin to Scent for Christ - A Sinner's Repentance Prayer

Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17,KJV)

There is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:1,KJV)

I got saved in the month and year of November 2nd, 1996 as a young girl . It was an amazing restoration I experienced that night.

I would love to know when you received Christ in your heart and how transformed your life has been since then.

If you said this prayer today, and know in your heart that you have given your life for Jesus, do message me below and share your joy . It will be my joy to pray for you from henceforth.

Amen! Having to use the WHOLE candle is the way it takes us to wash away the stench of sin. Knowing Jesus does indeed wash it away, but those who know us while we were yet sinners do not accept the clean and beautiful fragrance right away. They must see us clean again and again until they truly know we are following Jesus. Thank you for this important and pertinent reminder of the ways of satan.

Linda, you are absolutely right- we do need to live a clean life each and every day, confessing our sins so that others may see the Light in us of our Lord JEsus Christ. Yes,The entire candle had to be used to remove the stench.
