I have known this one particular woman my whole life. I know how she struggles in lot of the areas in her life. She does not see herself adequate in the things she wants to do and have accomplished, worries and stresses out easily. She thinks she is jinxed in the relationship /friendship area although she sees herself as friendly. The other day when she saw those ladies who used to be friendly with her now sitting together and chatting away all by themselves ,she felt hurt and ignored. She wondered if there are others like her who can identify with her feelings.
Do you know someone like her personally? Can I let in a secret about this woman? I AM THAT WOMAN!
Had it not been for the Word of God whispering sweet notings every single moment ,I would have been completely wound up in the chaotic thoughts of and from this World.
I will be focusing on two different stories from the Bible that has impacted me and allowed me to face my struggles .Hope it encourages you too.
John 5:1-15 is a story of a certain man who had an infirmity for 38 years.
When Jesus asked him, “Do you want to be made well? ”The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. 11 He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’
It took this man not one ,not two ,or even ten but 38 long years to try to get into that pool but someone else always went ahead.
Do we quit easily and lay in the bed crippled with unwanted thoughts?
The road may not be easy at all to get rid of our insufficiencies or forget our repetitive attempts of failures, but it is important that we keep on trying for the Lord will meet us on the way of our determination.
Second parable is the story about two sisters Mary, and Martha. We will see how Martha viewed herself, and How God viewed Mary
38-40 As they continued their travel, Jesus entered a village. A woman by the name of Martha welcomed him and made him feel quite at home. She had a sister, Mary, who sat before the Master, hanging on every word he said. But Martha was pulled away by all she had to do in the kitchen. Later, she stepped in, interrupting them. “Master, don’t you care that my sister has abandoned the kitchen to me? Tell her to lend me a hand.”
41-42 The Master said, “Martha, dear Martha, you’re fussing far too much and getting yourself worked up over nothing. One thing only is essential, and Mary has chosen it—it’s the main course, and won’t be taken from her.”
Martha complained to the Lord how her sister didn’t understand her nor helped her when she wanted the extra hands. Martha was really distracted with the worries of the how her entrée would turn out, or if she should chose paper plate over those gilded gold weave dinnerware for the Lord, whether the table runner matched the table cloth that she forgot to notice the Person her sister was spending most of the time.
Aren’t we so similar to Martha?
- Are we hurried by the lifestyle and standards of this world, that we forget to rest at the feet of the One who holds our World?
- Are we complaining how our sister/family is not there for us, when the One who gave us all is right there at our doorsteps?
- Are we willing to get out of the place of inadequacy and the crippling factors of life to find adequacy and completion in Christ?
God wants to know before healing us if we want to get out of our sin and things that disable us from living an abundant life.
The Lord wants us to choose Him over the cares of the world. He is closer and constant than our ever changing friends and families. Mary knew that at the Feet of Jesus she wouldn’t be trampled, kicked, or thrown out.

My Friend, I want you to remember that Only Jesus will stand up for you when others gossip about you.
Letting God define me rather than the world,
Until next time,
